Woman Arrested for Robbery and Stabbing at Half Moon Bay Supermarket

HALF MOON BAY – A 30-year-old woman was taken into custody by authorities in connection with a robbery and a stabbing incident that occurred at a supermarket in Half Moon Bay on Monday.

Stabbing Incident Prompts Police Response

According to a news release from the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the Safeway located at 70 North Cabrillo Highway after receiving a report of a stabbing. The incident took place at approximately 12:05 p.m. on Monday.

Victim Stabbed While Retrieving Stolen Property

The victim, who sustained two stab wounds, was attempting to recover stolen belongings belonging to his girlfriend when he was attacked, as stated by the sheriff’s office. The victim received immediate medical attention at the scene and was later transported to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, his injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.

Suspect Apprehended After Attempted Escape

Following the incident, the suspect, a resident of Half Moon Bay, fled the scene and managed to board a SamTrans bus. However, deputies were able to locate and apprehend her shortly after. During the arrest, law enforcement officials successfully recovered the stolen property and seized a knife from the suspect.

Arrest and Charges

The 30-year-old suspect was promptly arrested and subsequently booked into the county jail on charges of robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
