The Padirivedu Police from Tiruvallur district have made a significant breakthrough in a heart-wrenching case involving the kidnapping and tragic murder of an innocent eight-year-old boy. The main suspect, a 52-year-old man, has been apprehended and is now in police custody.

The victim, identified as S. Hanish, was a bright Class V student at a government school hailing from Palavedu village in Gummidipoondi, Tiruvallur district. The incident unfolded on Saturday, when young Hanish mysteriously went missing while playing on a vacant plot near his residence. Deeply concerned, his distraught parents, Suresh and Sindumathi, promptly lodged a complaint with the Padirivedu Police.

Thanks to the cooperation of a few vigilant youngsters from a nearby village near Sri City, a crucial lead emerged. They reported having spotted Hanish in the company of a woman named Rekha, aged 32, who happened to be a neighbor of Suresh and Sindumathi. Accompanying Rekha was her friend Ravannaih, aged 50, and the trio was observed riding on a motorbike towards a village in Andhra Pradesh.

Acting swiftly on this valuable information, the police apprehended Rekha for interrogation. Subsequently, it was revealed that Rekha and Ravannaih had devised a sinister plan to demand a ransom from Hanish’s family. Tragically, due to the boy’s inconsolable crying, they resorted to smothering him to death. Concealing the young boy’s lifeless body in a gunny bag, they callously discarded it amidst the bushes in a village located in Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile, in an unfortunate turn of events, the enraged villagers from Palavedu resorted to ransacking the house where Rekha had been residing.
