48-Year-Old Man Brutally Stabbed to Death in Yuen Long

20th December 2023 – (Hong Kong) In the early hours of today (20th), a shocking incident occurred in Yuen Long, where a 48-year-old man named Mr. Mok was brutally stabbed to death inside a taxi at the Shui Pin Wai Estate in the New Territories. The police suspect that a heated argument over a romantic dispute led to this tragic incident.

According to the authorities, Mr. Mok had just finished a gathering with two women and was about to leave in the taxi when a heated argument broke out. During the altercation, the assailant, armed with a knife, viciously attacked Mr. Mok, inflicting multiple fatal wounds to his chest. Following the incident, the police swiftly took action and apprehended a 36-year-old woman, who possesses an entry-exit permit, at 7am on suspicion of murder. Another arrest was made at 8am when a 37-year-old local woman was taken into custody for allegedly aiding the offender and obstructing the arrest. Additionally, the police found the murder weapon near the residence of the arrested 36-year-old woman. In a significant development, a 29-year-old man was arrested at 7pm in Tin Shui Wai for allegedly aiding and abetting the offender’s escape.

Investigations have revealed that the two arrested women were acquainted, and the 36-year-old woman, who is married, is believed to have been involved in a romantic relationship with the deceased victim. The arrested 29-year-old man is reported to be the husband of the 36-year-old woman.

At 4.20am, the police received a distressing report regarding an assault on a man inside a parked taxi at Shui Pin Wai Estate on Ma Temple Road, Yuen Long. The victim had suffered multiple stab wounds and was in critical condition, while the two female suspects had fled the scene. Paramedics promptly arrived and rushed the injured man to Pok Oi Hospital, but unfortunately, his condition deteriorated, resulting in his untimely death at 5.47am. The Yuen Long Criminal Investigation Division swiftly assumed control of the case, identifying the two female suspects and subsequently arresting the 36-year-old woman at Tin Shui Wai at 7am on suspicion of murder. The 37-year-old local woman was arrested at around 8am for allegedly aiding and abetting the offender.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the 48-year-old male victim and the 36-year-old woman with the entry-exit permit were involved in a romantic relationship. The fatal incident occurred after the victim and the two women concluded their gathering and prepared to leave in the taxi, leading to the altercation and subsequent attack. The Yuen Long Criminal Investigation Division, in collaboration with the Police Tactical Unit, conducted a thorough search near the residence of the arrested 36-year-old woman, successfully recovering the murder weapon. As the investigation progresses, the police have not ruled out the possibility of additional arrests.

The tragic incident unfolded at approximately 4am today when Mr. Mok, along with the two women, boarded a New Territories taxi at the taxi stand located at 17 Ma Miu Road, Shui Pin Wai Estate, Yuen Long. An intense altercation erupted between the individuals, during which Mr. Mok was allegedly stabbed in the chest with a sharp weapon, leading to profuse bleeding and rendering him unconscious. He was urgently transported to Pok Oi Hospital, but despite the efforts of medical professionals, his life could not be saved. The taxi was discovered with significant bloodstains and an abandoned key. Following extensive investigations, the police arrested two women, Lau, a 36-year-old housewife, and Lam, a 37-year-old unemployed woman, this morning at Ching Pik House, Tin Ching Estate in Tin Shui Wai. Lau is suspected of murder, while Lam is accused of assisting the offender.
