The first tragic incident occurred on Thursday afternoon, shortly after 2 p.m., in Rosamond. A 2007 Nissan sedan was speeding east on Rosamond Boulevard, east of 50th Street West, according to CHP officials.
The Nissan driver abruptly crossed in front of a westbound 2010 Toyota pickup truck on Rosamond Boulevard, leading to a fatal collision.
Both the driver and the sole passenger in the Nissan, who were not wearing seat belts, suffered fatal injuries and tragically lost their lives at the scene, as confirmed by officials.
The Kern County Coroner’s office identified the driver on Monday as Imber Jahziel Orduno, an 18-year-old resident of Rosamond. The passenger, also identified by the coroner’s office, was Vicente Antonio Arredondo-Twist, a 19-year-old from Rosamond.
The pickup truck driver, identified as 40-year-old Kyle Bergen from Rosamond, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Antelope Valley Medical Center for treatment, according to the CHP.
The investigation into this tragic collision is still ongoing. However, speed has been identified as a contributing factor, and authorities have not ruled out the possibility of the driver being impaired.
The second fatal accident occurred on Friday night, shortly after 11 p.m., on Fieldspring Street, south of Avenue O in Lake Los Angeles.
In this heart-wrenching incident, two teenagers lost their lives and four others sustained injuries when the 2019 Jeep Cherokee they were traveling in rolled over.
According to the CHP, the six individuals were heading northbound on Fieldspring Street when, for reasons still under investigation, the driver veered off the roadway, causing the Jeep to overturn.
Tragically, none of the occupants were wearing seat belts. The driver, 15-year-old Diego Manzo from Hesperia, was airlifted to Antelope Valley Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Alejandro Monge Ramos, a 17-year-old from Hemet, tragically lost his life at the scene of the accident, as reported by the CHP.
The crash also resulted in major injuries for a 14-year-old from Lancaster and a 17-year-old from Palmdale, while a 16-year-old from Littlerock and a 17-year-old from Pearblossom sustained minor injuries. All injured individuals were promptly transported to Antelope Valley Medical Center for medical care.
