Special Reserve Police Officer Charged with Murder of Yannick O’Brian Hercules

A 40-year-old Special Reserve Police officer has appeared in court, facing charges of murdering Yannick O’Brian Hercules on August 8. Police Constable Javon Skeete, formerly assigned to the Cumuto Police Station, was formally charged during a hearing at the Arima Magistrates’ Court on December 15. The case has been adjourned until April 26. Hercules, also known as ‘Salix’ and ‘Biggs’, aged 36 and hailing from Piarco, was involved in a dispute over money at a bar in Arima on August 5, which ultimately led to his tragic demise. Investigation Underway for Murder Near Hyatt Regency Hotel in Port of Spain

Police are currently investigating a murder that occurred early Monday morning near the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Port of Spain. The victim has been identified as 47-year-old Wendell Walker from Paradise Heights, Morvant. Authorities received reports of a shooting around 1:20 am in the vicinity of the walkover on Wrightson Road. Upon arrival, they discovered a bullet-riddled silver Mercedes Benz.
