Arrest Made in Nebraska State Patrol’s Investigation of Fatal Shooting

Superior, Nebraska – In a tragic incident late Sunday, one person has been arrested for second-degree murder as the Nebraska State Patrol launches an investigation into a fatal shooting. Local authorities and the Nebraska State Patrol promptly responded to a residence in Superior at approximately 11:55 p.m. following reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, law enforcement officers discovered a woman inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound. Identified as 35-year-old Molly Gruber, she was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where she was sadly pronounced dead. Sebastian Dunbar, a 30-year-old suspect, was apprehended at the scene and taken into custody by the state patrol.

Authorities investigating the incident have disclosed that the shooting was a result of a domestic dispute between Gruber and Dunbar. Shockingly, the altercation took place with a child present in the residence at the time. As a precautionary measure, the child has been placed in protective custody under the supervision of officials.

In addition to the second-degree murder charge, Dunbar is also facing charges of using a weapon to commit a felony and domestic violence. The investigation into this tragic event is ongoing, with the Nebraska State Patrol working in collaboration with the Nuckolls County Sheriff’s Office and the Superior Police Department.
