Mei Haskell Obituary – Cause of Death: Missing 37-Year-Old Mother of Three Identified as Body Parts in Encino Dumpster; Samuel Bond Haskell IV Arrest & Charges

The County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner has confirmed the identification of the remains found in an Encino dumpster as body parts belonging to Mei Haskell, a 37-year-old mother of three who had been reported missing. This shocking discovery was made last month, leaving the community in disbelief.

Samuel Bond Haskell IV, the victim’s 35-year-old spouse, has been taken into custody and charged with the heinous crimes of murdering his wife and mutilating her body. The accused, who is the son of a prominent Hollywood agent at William Morris, also stands accused of killing his in-laws, whose bodies have yet to be found.

According to investigators, the events leading to this gruesome discovery unfolded on November 7, when Haskell hired four day laborers to remove numerous bulky trash bags from their Tarzana residence. It was during this process that one of the workers stumbled upon human body parts hidden within one of the bags. Sensing the gravity of the situation, they immediately reported the incident and dialed 911.

Surveillance footage captured Haskell on the same day, approximately five miles away from his home on Coldstream Terrace in Encino. The footage showed him disposing of a large garbage bag into a dumpster off Ventura Boulevard. The following day, an individual searching the dumpster made a horrifying discovery – a torso concealed within a trash bag. Without wasting a moment, they immediately contacted emergency services.

Authorities revisited the Tarzana residence, where they uncovered compelling evidence pointing towards a murder and the subsequent dismemberment of Mei Haskell’s body. Subsequently, Haskell was apprehended at the Topanga Mall on suspicion of murder.

The accused made his initial court appearance on December 8. However, his arraignment has been rescheduled to January 12, 2024.
