Mason City Man Arrested on Murder Charges After Body Found in Home
MASON CITY, Iowa (KTTC) – A Mason City resident is now facing murder charges following the discovery of a deceased man in a local residence. The Mason City Police Department responded to a welfare check at 1916 South Grover Avenue on Monday afternoon, prompting an investigation that led to the arrest.

Police Investigation and Arrest
Shortly before 1:30 p.m. on Monday, law enforcement officials from the Mason City Police Department arrived at the mentioned address in response to a welfare check. During the course of their investigation, officers obtained a search warrant for the private residence and its surrounding property. It was during this search that the lifeless body of a man was discovered.
Recognizing the severity and complexity of the case, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation was called in to provide additional support and assistance to the Mason City Police Department.
As a result of their thorough investigation, authorities arrested 51-year-old Fredrick Olson, a Mason City resident, on charges of Murder in the First Degree. The victim has been identified as 63-year-old Leroy White, also a resident of Mason City.
