Robbery Turns Fatal as Afghan National Fights Back

The first incident unfolded in the G-9/4 area, where three armed assailants on a motorcycle targeted Mosawer, an Afghan national, along with his cousin Hilaluddin and their companion Ikram. The criminals swiftly approached the trio, brandishing their weapons and demanding valuables.

Unwilling to be subdued, Mosawer summoned his courage and attempted to overpower one of the robbers as they made their escape. However, in a tragic turn of events, the assailants opened fire, gravely injuring Mosawer, who was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The heart-wrenching incident prompted Hilaluddin to file a complaint, leading to the registration of a case against the robbers by the Karachi Company police.

Street Robbery Takes a Violent Turn

In another shocking incident, a man named Ishaq Masih became the target of armed robbers in the G-8/4 area. Masih was intercepted by two bike riders near the AGPR office, who sought to snatch his mobile phone. Displaying immense bravery, Masih resisted their advances, prompting the criminals to resort to violence. They shot Masih and fled the scene with Rs4,000 from his pocket.

Double Tragedy Strikes G-11/4

The incident that sent shockwaves through the city occurred in the G-11/4 area, where a police official, Mohammad Ashraf, and his son, Mohammad Zeeshan, tragically lost their lives. The case, registered under Section 302 (murder) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention), revealed a heart-wrenching tale of bravery and loss.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), Ashraf, who resided in a flat at G-11/4, had his Honda 125 stolen the previous week. On Sunday morning, upon returning home from duty at the Police Lines Headquarters, he noticed two suspicious individuals loitering near the parking area. Suspecting them to be the same culprits responsible for his motorcycle theft, Ashraf sprang into action.

In a valiant attempt to apprehend one of the suspects, Ashraf’s nephew witnessed the unfolding scene. Tragically, the other suspect drew a concealed pistol from his bike and callously shot Ashraf in the back. Hearing the commotion, Ashraf’s son Zeeshan rushed to the scene, only to meet the same fate.

While the police statement declared that the constable and his son were killed while thwarting a robbery, the FIR made no mention of a robbery. Consequently, the in-charge of the Ramna police station faced suspension for his failure to include the robbery charge in the FIR.

These distressing incidents have left the city in a state of shock and mourning. The police authorities are determined to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure the safety and security of the citizens of Islamabad.
