Accident – death – Obituary News : Scott Farmer, a 47-year-old resident of Neenah, has been arrested following a tragic wrong-way crash in Waupaca County that claimed the lives of four young siblings over the weekend. The incident occurred on Saturday, December 16, when the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two-vehicle crash on Highway 10 in Weyauwega at around 9:13 pm.

According to authorities, Farmer was driving a pickup truck in the wrong direction, westbound in the eastbound lane of Highway 10, when he collided head-on with an SUV carrying four passengers traveling in the opposite direction. Tragically, three individuals were pronounced dead at the scene, while the fourth victim, who was initially in critical condition, succumbed to their injuries at a local hospital.

It has been reported that Farmer was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. Prosecutors revealed during Farmer’s first court appearance on December 18 that he had four previous convictions for operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI). Additionally, his license had been revoked at the time of the accident. Authorities also alleged that Farmer was combative when they attempted to remove him from his vehicle and that a three-quarters full bottle of vodka was found beside him.

Following the court appearance, a cash bond of $750,000 was set for Farmer. However, the victims’ stepfather, Kurt Schilling, expressed concerns about Farmer potentially being released and endangering the lives of innocent civilians. He implored the court to set a higher bond, stating, “A known felon, who has done this multiple times, has the ability possibly, economically, to get out of jail again. I know we will get through this somehow, but we won’t have a future with our children, with any grandchildren. And we’ll never get over the hurt and loss that we have, and how can I explain to my wife that her children are gone?”

The four siblings who tragically lost their lives in the crash have been identified as Daniel, Fabian, Lilian, and Daniela Gonzalez. The victims’ stepfather revealed that Daniel, 25, and Fabian, 23, worked as milk technicians in a local dairy farm. Lilian, 14, was a ninth-grade student in the Weyauwega-Fremont School District, and Daniela, just 9 years old, was in the fourth grade.

The devastated mother of the victims, Paulina Gonzalez, shared her heartbreak in a statement to NBC 7, saying, “I have my heart broken at this moment as a mother, [their] memories will live with me forever. We had big projects and dreams. They were good kids, responsible, respectful.”
