Former Sarpanch Shot Dead in Chhatarpur: Ex-Sarpanch Kailash Yadav Killed at Party, Case Registered Against 4 Individuals

The incident occurred late Sunday night at a therapy center under the jurisdiction of Kotwali police station in the district. The victim, identified as Kailash Yadav, a resident of Vishwanath colony, was attending a party organized by one of his friends. Shockingly, the party turned deadly as a dispute erupted between Yadav and a man named Rishi Mishra over a property matter.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), which was registered against four accused individuals named Rishi Mishra, Vedant Tiwari, Satendra Singh Thakur, and Mulayam Yadav, a scuffle broke out during the party. As tensions escalated, Rishi, allegedly armed with a pistol, opened fire and struck Yadav. The accused individuals then callously left the injured Yadav at a hospital in the district, deceiving his family by claiming that he had been in a road accident. They subsequently fled the scene.

The Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Sanghi revealed that the party took place at a therapy center located on the outskirts of the district. He stated, “Yadav sustained bullet injuries during the party, and the accused left him alone at a hospital in the district before escaping.” Tragically, Yadav succumbed to his injuries, as confirmed by a post-mortem examination. Following a complaint lodged by the deceased’s brother, a case was registered against the four accused individuals under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Kotwali police station.

Investigations are currently underway, and it has been established that all parties involved were acquainted with each other. When questioned about the motive behind the incident, SP Sanghi mentioned that the exact reason would be determined upon the arrest of the accused. Nonetheless, the victim’s brother claimed that a land dispute had sparked the deadly confrontation.
