Former Sarpanch Shot Dead During Party in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur

Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh), December 19 (ANI): In a shocking incident, a 41-year-old former sarpanch was fatally shot during a party in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh. The incident took place late Sunday night at a therapy center under the jurisdiction of Kotwali police station.
The victim, identified as Kailash Yadav, a resident of Vishwanath colony, had attended the party organized by one of his friends. There were a total of five individuals present, including Yadav. However, things took a tragic turn when a heated dispute erupted between Yadav and another party-goer named Rishi Mishra over a property matter.
According to the FIR filed in the early hours of Tuesday, Rishi Mishra, along with Vedant Tiwari, Satendra Singh Thakur, and Mulayam Yadav, are accused in the case. The FIR stated that during the altercation, Rishi Mishra opened fire with his pistol, hitting Yadav. The other individuals present at the party took sides with Rishi, leading to a scuffle.

After the incident, the accused left Yadav in an injured state at a local hospital, falsely informing his family that he had been in a road accident. Unfortunately, Yadav succumbed to his injuries and a post-mortem examination confirmed that the cause of death was the bullet wound.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Sanghi informed ANI, “During the party, Yadav sustained bullet injuries. The accused left him alone at a hospital in the district and fled the scene.” He further added that all the individuals involved in the incident were acquainted with each other and the investigation is currently underway.
When asked about the motive behind the incident, SP Sanghi stated that the actual reason would only be determined after the arrest of the accused. However, the deceased’s brother claimed that the murder was a result of a dispute over land ownership.

After the incident, the accused abandoned Yadav at a local hospital, deceiving his family by reporting a fabricated road accident. Unfortunately, Yadav succumbed to his injuries, and a subsequent post-mortem examination confirmed that the cause of death was the bullet wound.
