Thai Shooting Suspect Apprehended and Taken into Custody after Fatal Attack on Student and Teacher

The apprehension of the suspect involved in the fatal shootings of 19-year-old Thanason and Sirada, a computer teacher at Prarotthai Convent School, has been reported. Following the incident, the assailant fled to Chiang Mai province. However, the police successfully captured him and he has been taken into custody for further interrogation in Bangkok today.

The notorious incident shocked the nation as it involved the murder of Thanason, widely known as Nong Yot, a student of Rajamangala University of Technology Tawan-ok, Uthen Thawai Campus, and Sirada, also known as Teacher Jieb, a computer teacher from Sacred Heart Convent School. Both victims tragically lost their lives in the incident.

This tragic event sparked an extensive manhunt, resulting in the arrest of eight suspects who were later remanded in custody at the Southern Bangkok Criminal Court on November 24. Due to the severity of the case and fears that the group may attempt to flee, the court denied bail to all suspects. Additionally, three more arrest warrants have been issued.

According to Khao Sod, the police successfully apprehended the shooter, identified as Am, in Chiang Mai province. The Metropolitan Police Bureau’s Investigation Division is currently escorting him back to the headquarters in Bangkok for further interrogation.

Latest Development: Young Mechanic Implicated in the Shootings

In a related development, a young mechanic who was also implicated in the shootings of Nong Yot and Teacher Jieb has been captured. This individual has a violent history, further adding to the gravity of the case.

In another incident, fatal gunfire erupted in Bangkok’s Khlong Toei district as two assailants targeted university students outside a TMBThanachart Bank branch. One victim was killed, while another remains critically wounded. Eyewitnesses describe a disagreement leading to the attack. The assailants managed to escape on a motorcycle, prompting a city-wide hunt. Authorities are investigating a potential university rivalry as the motive behind the incident. Additionally, 19-year-old twins have been arrested for fatally shooting a teenager in On Nut.
