Drunken Father in Sa Kaeo Confesses to Son’s Murder and Dumping Body in Pond

Yesterday, a shocking revelation came to light in Sa Kaeo province when a father, identified as Ponsak, aged 47, confessed to the murder of his 23-year-old son, Suesak. The young man had been missing for several months, and Ponsak disclosed that he had disposed of the body in a pond near their home. This distressing incident has stunned the local community and triggered a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crime.

Notification and Investigation

Several months before Ponsak’s confession, the local police station at Klong Had in Sa Kaeo received a report about the disappearance of Suesak. The case was immediately escalated to the provincial police chief, Omsin Bunyanuson, who assigned his deputies, Jaturaphat Singhasatit, Damrong Eiamphiroj, and Jakaphet Phongphai, to lead the investigation. The authorities were determined to find answers and bring justice to the grieving family.

Breakthrough in the Case

A significant breakthrough in the case occurred when an inebriated Ponsak revealed to his friends that he had killed his son and discarded the body in a pond near their residence. This disclosure prompted the police to visit the pond at approximately 9:30 pm on December 18. Located just 50 meters from their house, the pond served as a water storage facility for agricultural purposes. It was there that the investigators made a gruesome discovery: the decomposed remains of the missing young man.

The divers, who braved the murky waters, found the remains in an advanced state of decomposition. Only fragments of bones, such as arms and legs, remained identifiable. The body had been covered with a coconut leaf, but the skull was conspicuously absent. To ensure a thorough investigation, authorities are planning to drain the entire pond in a search for the missing skull.

Confession and Motive

Following the discovery of the remains, Ponsak was taken into custody. During initial questioning, he confessed to committing the heinous crime. Ponsak detailed that he had killed his son in October during a heated argument by striking him twice in the head with a knife. He claimed that his son had been verbally abusive towards him on a regular basis. On the day of the incident, the argument escalated, and in a drunken state, Ponsak impulsively grabbed a nearby knife, resulting in his son’s tragic demise. Ponsak then used a tricycle cart to transport the body to the pond, where he tied a stone to it before disposing of it in the water, as reported by Khao Sod.

Ongoing Investigation and Arrest Warrant

Ponsak alleged that he was haunted by his son’s ghost, which prevented him from sleeping in their house. The police have issued an arrest warrant for Ponsak, charging him with intentional murder and concealment of a body. The investigation into this distressing case is still ongoing, as authorities seek to uncover any additional evidence that may shed light on the motive behind this tragic act.
