According to Las Vegas Metro police, Comanche, 27, and his alleged co-conspirator, Sakari Harnden, 19, face murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and kidnapping charges in Las Vegas Justice Court. The victim, Marayna Rodgers, 23, was a medical assistant from Washington state. Her remains were discovered in Henderson, just outside of Las Vegas.

Rodgers and her boyfriend had traveled to Las Vegas on December 1 with the intention of engaging in prostitution, according to the arrest report. Friends of Rodgers, who described her as a sex worker, expressed concern when she failed to check in or return from her “dates.” It was during this time that Comanche and Harnden allegedly hatched a plan to kidnap and murder Rodgers.

On December 4, Comanche messaged Harnden, discussing the possibility of poisoning Rodgers or physically harming her. The messages indicated a callous disregard for human life, with Comanche suggesting methods of murder commonly seen in movies.

On the night of December 5, Comanche posed as a potential client interested in purchasing sexual acts from Rodgers. This was the same night that Comanche’s team played at The Dollar Loan Center in Henderson. A friend of Rodgers, who was shown text messages between Rodgers and Harnden, dropped her off to meet Harnden. The friend found it suspicious that Comanche was in the back seat of the car.

Throughout the course of their interaction with Rodgers, Comanche messaged Harnden, coaching her on what to say if questioned by the police. The case initially began as a missing persons investigation, but once the Telegram messages were discovered, it was turned over to the LVMPD’s Homicide section.

Additional evidence, including surveillance video, supported the investigators’ case against Comanche and Harnden. The video footage captured Comanche’s movements as he visited and left the M Resort in Henderson. Another video showed Harnden leaving Comanche’s hotel room visibly upset and crying after he left with luggage on the morning of December 6. This coincided with the time Rodgers went missing.
