Arrest Made in Fatal Shooting Incident

A suspect has been apprehended and charged with second degree murder following a tragic shooting incident that took place late Sunday evening in Superior, Nebraska.

Shooting Incident at 1216 Idaho Street

The incident unfolded shortly before midnight at a residence located at 1216 Idaho Street in Superior. Upon receiving a distress call, both the Nuckolls County Sheriff’s Office and Superior Police Department promptly responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, law enforcement officers discovered a victim inside the home with a fatal gunshot wound. The victim, identified as Molly Gruber, aged 35, was immediately transported to Brodstone Hospital. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Immediate Arrest of the Suspect

The suspect, identified as Sebastian Dunbar, aged 30, was found at the scene and taken into custody without any resistance. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the Nuckolls County Sheriff’s Office sought assistance from the Nebraska State Patrol to conduct a thorough investigation into the shooting.

During the incident, a child was also present inside the residence. To ensure the child’s safety, authorities placed the child under protective custody.

Domestic Dispute Turns Fatal

Upon preliminary investigation, it has been determined that the shooting occurred during a domestic dispute between Dunbar and the victim, Molly Gruber. The two individuals were involved in a romantic relationship prior to the incident.

Charges and Incarceration

Sebastian Dunbar has been arrested and charged with second degree murder, use of a weapon to commit a felony, and domestic violence. He has been remanded to the custody of Clay County Jail where he awaits further legal proceedings.
