52-Year-Old Man Arrested for Abducting, Raping, and Killing 9-Year-Old Girl in Swaroop Nagar, Delhi

Accident – Death – Obituary News : New Delhi [India], December 19 (ANI): In a shocking incident, a nine-year-old girl went missing from Swaroop Nagar area in Delhi, and the police have now arrested a 52-year-old man for allegedly abducting, raping, and killing the minor. The accused, identified as Sanjeev Rana, is said to have dumped her body in the Munak canal. A team of divers has been deployed to search for the victim’s body.

The incident came to light when the police received information about the kidnapping of the girl on December 12. Based on this information, a case was registered, and a search operation was initiated. However, during the search, the accused met with an accident and was admitted to a hospital in Rohini area on December 15. Unfortunately, his statement could not be recorded as the doctors declared him unfit.

During the course of the investigation, the police discovered that the girl had sat in the accused’s vehicle on a nearby street on the day she went missing. Finally, on December 17, the accused’s statement was recorded after he was declared fit. In his confession, he admitted to abducting the girl and later killing her. He revealed that he had disposed of the girl’s body in the Munak canal.

To locate the victim’s body, five divers have been deployed to search the canal. Additionally, a separate team has been formed to investigate the accused’s travel route on the day of the abduction. The police are also bringing in a team of divers from Khajuri to assist in the search operation.

The accused has been arrested for the kidnapping, rape, and murder of the minor girl. The police have registered a case under sections 364, 302, and 201 of the IPC, along with relevant sections of the POCSO Act against him.
