Teenager Dies in Wichita Shooting Linked to Social Media Dispute

WICHITA, Kan. – In a tragic turn of events, a 15-year-old boy named Gabriel Aiden Jimenez lost his life on Monday afternoon, succumbing to injuries sustained in a shooting incident that stemmed from an ongoing social media dispute.

The Wichita Police Department has now shifted its investigation from a shooting to a homicide case, following Jimenez’s unfortunate demise.

The incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday, December 13, at the intersection of East 15th Street North and North Poplar Avenue.

Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers discovered Jimenez with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. Another 14-year-old victim was also found, suffering from a gunshot wound to his right upper leg. Both victims were promptly rushed to a local hospital, where they underwent surgical procedures. Sadly, Jimenez’s injuries proved fatal, leading to his untimely death.
