Fulton Police Respond to Domestic Disturbance and Stabbing Incident

On Friday, 15th December 2023, at around 7:03 pm, the Fulton Police Officers swiftly responded to a distress call regarding a domestic disturbance in the 700 block of 20th Avenue. The authorities were alerted by Whiteside County Dispatch that a person had been subjected to a stabbing, and the suspect had eluded capture, fleeing in an unknown direction.

Upon reaching the scene, the officers discovered a 47-year-old male victim inside the residence, who had sustained a serious stab wound to the chest. Acting promptly, the officers provided immediate medical assistance to control the bleeding until the arrival of Fulton Fire and EMS. The victim was subsequently transported to MercyOne Hospital, located in Clinton, Iowa, where they are currently in a stable condition.

Following a thorough investigation and collection of crucial evidence, law enforcement officials were able to identify the perpetrator as a 21-year-old male resident of Fulton, Illinois. Shortly after, the individual was located at a different residence within Fulton. Due to injuries sustained during the reported altercation, the suspect was promptly transferred by Fulton EMS to Morrison Community Hospital in Morrison, Illinois. However, the injuries were minor, and the suspect was later released.

Initial findings obtained during the investigation suggest that the stabbing incident was an act of self-defense, as stated by multiple witnesses. After an interview with the officers, the 21-year-old male was released. However, the case remains under active investigation by the authorities.

At this time, the names of all individuals involved are not being disclosed to the public in order to protect their privacy and maintain the integrity of the investigation.
