Three individuals tragically lost their lives when a fishing boat they were on capsized during severe weather conditions off the coast of Shiroor Kalihitlu on Sunday night. The incident occurred around 1:30 am on Monday, December 18, in Udupi district, Karnataka.

Udupi, Karnataka: Tragedy struck early on Monday morning as two fishermen lost their lives when their fishing boat capsized due to harsh weather conditions off the coast of Shiroor in Udupi district. The victims were identified as Abdul Sattar (45) from Shiroor and Mohammad Yusuf Nisba (49) from Bhatkal. The third person on the boat, Buddu Mukhtar (37), was fortunately rescued by fishermen from another boat.

Upon receiving the distress call, the Coast Guard and local police personnel swiftly reached the scene. The Byndoor police station has registered a case in connection with the incident.

Expressing her condolences, Udupi district-in-charge Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar, who is currently in Delhi, has directed officials to provide compensation to the families of the deceased. The tragic event has left the local community in mourning.
