“Tragic Accident on Ahmednagar-Kalyan Highway Claims Lives of Eight, Including Siblings”

Accident – death – Obituary News : Eight individuals, including two siblings, tragically lost their lives in a devastating accident on the Ahmednagar-Kalyan highway in Junnar taluka of Pune district on Sunday night. The incident occurred around 8.30 pm at Dingore village, approximately 105 km away from Pune city.

Authorities revealed that the collision involved a pickup truck and an autorickshaw, resulting in the fatalities. Five occupants of the pickup truck and three individuals in the autorickshaw were among the victims. Heartbreakingly, four of the deceased have been identified as members of the same family, namely Ganesh Maskare (30), his wife Komal (25), their daughter Kavya (6), and their son Harshad (4).

Providing further details, Ankit Goyal, the Superintendent of Police in Pune Rural, stated, “The deceased were traveling in a pickup truck and an autorickshaw.” He explained that the pickup truck was en route to Kalyan from Otur, while the autorickshaw was heading from Kalyan to Otur. Tragically, the pickup truck collided with the autorickshaw from the side, causing both vehicles to lose balance and topple over. The pickup truck, even after toppling, continued moving and eventually crashed into another truck approaching from the opposite direction, exacerbating the severity of the accident.

Inspector Sachin Kandage, in charge of the Otur police station, shared, “An investigation into the accident has been initiated.” The identities of the remaining deceased individuals are currently being verified by the police.
