Hanover Man killed in Storm as Tree Falls on Trailer

HANOVER, Mass. — A tragic incident occurred during Monday’s storm when a strong wind gust caused a tree to topple onto a trailer, resulting in the death of a South Shore man. Local authorities reported that the victim, identified as 89-year-old Robert Horky, was tragically trapped inside the trailer when the tree crashed down upon it.

Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene on Industrial Way in Hanover, following a report of a large tree falling just before 10 a.m. The impact of this natural disaster caused a cluster of branches to pierce through the top of the small trailer, leaving Horky trapped inside. Plymouth District Attorney, Timothy Cruz, confirmed that firefighters were able to extricate Horky from the wreckage and quickly transported him to South Shore Hospital. Sadly, Horky was pronounced dead upon arrival.
