Aircraft Accident in Oregon Claims the Lives of Pilot and Two Passengers

A tragic incident occurred on Saturday in Oregon when a small plane crashed into power lines, resulting in the pilot and two passengers losing their lives. The victims have been identified as Mohammad Hussain Musawi, Mohammad Bashir Safdari, and Ali Jan Ferdawsi. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have launched investigations to determine the cause of the crash.

Late Saturday afternoon, a small plane crashed into power lines in Independence, Oregon, leading to the untimely demise of the pilot and two passengers, as confirmed by local authorities. The Polk County emergency services immediately responded to the incident after receiving a report about the single-engine plane crash at approximately 4:55 p.m. The Independence Police Department shared this information on their social media accounts.

On Sunday, the authorities officially identified the deceased individuals as the pilot, 35-year-old Mohammad Hussain Musawi from Independence, and the two passengers, Mohammad Bashir Safdari, 35, from Independence, and Ali Jan Ferdawsi, 29, from Salem, Oregon.

Fortunately, the owner of the airplane was not on board, and there were no other passengers present at the time of the incident, according to the police.

Independence Chief Robert Mason expressed his condolences, saying, “My heart goes out to the deceased and the pain their families are experiencing. Our entire department mourns with you during this time.”

According to the latest statement from the police, the ill-fated plane was traveling from McMinnville, Oregon, to the Independence State Airport amidst heavy fog. This updated information sheds light on the circumstances leading up to the crash.

The FAA and the NTSB are leading the investigation into the incident, with support from the Independence police. However, the exact cause of the crash has not been disclosed at this time.
