The victims have been identified as Michael Fischella, 32, and Tanaia Wilkinson, 25, both residents of Millis. The district attorney stated that the two individuals were well acquainted with each other.

The grim discovery was made by a Millis town worker who was driving on a remote dirt roadway close to Routes 115 and 27. Upon finding the lifeless bodies, the worker immediately contacted the authorities.

Millis police swiftly responded to the scene and secured the crime scene. The Massachusetts State Police homicide unit, assigned to Morrissey’s office, was notified and joined the investigation. State Police Crime Scene Services, including ballistics specialists and chemists from the crime lab, were also called in to process the scene and gather evidence.

During the investigation, a gun was discovered beneath the body of the male victim, providing initial indications of a possible murder-suicide. However, Morrissey emphasized that the investigation is still in its early stages and further examination is required before any conclusions can be drawn.

Morrissey stated, “We are still very early in this investigation and there is much to be done, but we do not yet have evidence of third-party involvement. The Medical Examiner may be able to provide information on the cause and manner of death in the next 24 to 48 hours.”

Both Fischella and Wilkinson, originally from outside Massachusetts, had recently been residing at 67 Curve Street in Millis, according to the police. Efforts are underway to reach their next of kin, who reside out of state.

Millis Police Chief Christopher Soffayer assured the community that there is no ongoing threat or danger associated with this incident. He stated, “An incident like this will obviously be upsetting to residents, but the information available at this time does not suggest any ongoing threat or danger to Millis residents.”

The investigation into the deaths is ongoing, and authorities are working closely with Millis detectives. Chief Soffayer added that a heavy police presence will remain in the immediate area for several hours.
