Investigation into Homicide on 44th Street

The Metropolitan Police Department’s (MPD) Homicide Branch is currently investigating the tragic shooting incident that occurred on December 16th, claiming the life of a man on the 1200 block of 44th Street, SE in Washington, D.C.

Police Response and Victim’s Condition

Upon receiving reports of gunshots in the area, MPD officers swiftly responded to the scene. They discovered an adult male victim who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The injured individual was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.

Identification of the Victim

The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Kenneth Barksdale Jr.
