Man and Woman Found Dead in Millis: Authorities Confirm No Ongoing Threat to Public Safety

In a tragic incident, a man and woman were discovered deceased on a dirt road off Route 115 in Millis on Sunday morning. The authorities have confirmed that both individuals suffered from gunshot wounds. The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office has identified the victims as Michael Fischella, aged 32, and Tanaia Wilkinson, aged 25. They resided at 67 Curve St. in Millis.

The bodies of Fischella and Wilkinson were found near their vehicle, with a firearm discovered beneath the man’s body, as stated in the press release.

Millis Police Chief Christopher Soffayer reassured the community, stating, “An incident like this will obviously be upsetting to residents, but the information available at this time does not suggest any ongoing threat or danger to Millis residents associated with this incident. A heavy police presence in the immediate area is expected to remain in place for several hours as well.”

The discovery of Fischella and Wilkinson’s lifeless bodies was made by a town worker who happened to be driving along the dirt road, according to the press release.

Immediate response and investigation were initiated by the Millis Police, along with the Massachusetts State Police from the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office. Additionally, state police crime scene services, ballistics personnel, and chemists were deployed to the scene.

District Attorney Michael Morrissey stated, “We are still very early in this investigation and there is much to be done, but we do not yet have evidence of third-party involvement. The medical examiner may be able to provide information on the cause and manner of death in the next 24 to 48 hours.”

According to authorities, both Fischella and Wilkinson were previously residing outside of the state but had recently relocated to Millis.

District Attorney Morrissey emphasized, “The scene is still very active, and authorities are trying to reach next of kin out of state for both parties. We are working closely with Millis detectives and Chief Soffayer as we work through this.”
