Chance Comanche, a G-League player, is currently in police custody in Sacramento County Jail on suspicion of murder. Comanche, who played for the Stockton Kings, the G-League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings, was arrested by the California FBI for a kidnapping charge related to the missing person case. He is being held without bail, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

The Stockton Kings have confirmed that they released Comanche from the team following his arrest. Comanche had been performing well this season, averaging 14 points and 7 rebounds per game.

According to Comanche’s inmate record, he was arrested without a warrant for a PC 1551.1 felony, which allows for the arrest of a person charged with a crime punishable by death or imprisonment exceeding one year in another state, under California law.

KLAS, CBS’ Las Vegas station, first reported the arrest of Comanche in connection with the disappearance of Marayna Rodgers, a 23-year-old woman from Washington who was visiting friends in Las Vegas. Rodgers was reported missing on December 6, the day after the Kings played against the G-League Ignite at the Dollar Loan Center in Henderson, Nevada. Comanche participated in both games that weekend.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department also arrested Sakari Harnden, a 19-year-old friend of Rodgers, on a kidnapping charge related to the case. Harnden allegedly met up with Rodgers and Comanche on December 5, after which Rodgers was not seen or heard from again.

Comanche, who played college basketball at Arizona, is scheduled for a court appearance on Tuesday and will be extradited to Nevada.
