Regrettably, this heart-wrenching incident marks the second time in just two days that a child has lost their life due to gun violence in the United States. A one-year-old baby was fatally shot at a residence in Memphis, Tennessee, on Saturday, as reported by local police.

According to the Gun Violence Archive, at least 284 children aged 11 or younger have tragically lost their lives to shootings in the US so far this year. This alarming statistic highlights the urgent need for measures to address gun violence and protect the nation’s youth.

A study conducted by researchers at Boston Children’s Hospital in October revealed an alarming 87% surge in children’s gun-related deaths over the past decade. This distressing trend underscores the critical importance of implementing effective gun control policies to safeguard young lives.
