Four Victims Confirmed to be Related

In a tragic incident, a wrong-way crash on Highway 10 has claimed the lives of four individuals who were all related to one another, according to the latest update from the police.

The devastating crash occurred on December 16, around 9:15 p.m., in the eastbound lane of Highway 10 near CTH X in Weyauwega. The authorities have revealed that the driver of a pickup truck was traveling westbound in the eastbound lane, leading to a head-on collision with an SUV carrying four people.

Tragically, three individuals in the SUV lost their lives at the scene of the accident, while the fourth victim was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, their injuries were severe, and they passed away the following day, as confirmed by the police.

The pickup truck driver has been identified as 47-year-old Scott C. Farmer. Although he sustained critical injuries in the crash, he managed to survive. Farmer now faces multiple charges, including four counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, fifth-offense operating while intoxicated, and operating with a revoked license causing death.

The Weyauwega-Fremont School District has confirmed that the victims of this tragic incident were associated with their schools. In a notice sent to families, it was revealed that one of the victims was an elementary student, while another was a high school student. The victims have been identified as Daniel, Fabian, Lilian, and Daniela Gonzalez, as stated by their family members.

In addition to the human casualties, a dog and a cat were also present in the vehicle at the time of the crash. The Humane Society of Waupaca and Clintonville Hometown Veterinary Service provided assistance in caring for these animals, according to the police.

The initial court appearance for Scott C. Farmer, who resides in Neenah, has been scheduled for December 18 at 1 p.m. in Waupaca County Circuit Court.

The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office worked in collaboration with several agencies to manage the aftermath of the incident. These included the Waupaca County Highway Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Weyauwega Police Department, Weyauwega Fire Department, Gold Cross Weyauwega, and Fremont Ambulance.
