District magistrate Avanish Rai and Etawah SSP rushed to the accident site upon receiving the information and oversaw the rescue operations. The bodies of the deceased were recovered from the debris and sent for post-mortem examination, while the injured were admitted to the district hospital for treatment.

According to SSP Sanjay Kumar Verma, four individuals lost their lives in the accident, identified as Suraj, Talib, Sanjay Kumar, and dhaba owner Kuldeep Kumar, all in their 30s. The injured individuals, Saurabh Kumar and Rahul Kumar, are currently receiving treatment at the district hospital.

Investigations suggest that the container truck driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident. The driver has been taken into custody, and the truck, which was carrying a consignment of electric wires and had a Jharkhand registration number, has been removed from the accident site with the assistance of a crane to restore traffic on the highway.

The preliminary findings indicate that the truck driver’s state of intoxication played a significant role in the accident.
