Tragic Tractor Collision Claims Four Lives in Bajura, Nepal

BAJURA, DECEMBER 18 – In a devastating accident, four individuals lost their lives when two tractors collided at Khadigaad in Badimalika municipality-2, along the Martadighatmuna road in Bajura district on Sunday evening.

The District Police Office, Bajura, identified the deceased as Devraj Joshi, aged 38, from Badimalika municipality-2, Karishma Rokaya, aged 33, from the same ward, Chandra Dani, aged 35, from Badimalika municipality-1, and Hikmat Rokaya, aged 30, from Gaumul rural municipality-6 in the district.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Kabindra Singh Bohora, the tragic accident occurred when two tractors, bearing registration numbers SuPa Pra 01002 Ta 4105 and Lu 4 Ta 7305, were heading towards Gaumul rural municipality in Martadi. The collision transpired as the two vehicles attempted to overtake each other.

Regrettably, the individuals traveling in the tractor with registration number Lu 4 Ta 7305 escaped unharmed, while the four passengers in the other tractor, including the driver, lost their lives on the spot, informed DSP Bohora. It is worth mentioning that each tractor was carrying a total of four people.

Authorities have reported that the driver of the tractor with registration number SuPa Pra 01002 Ta 4105 has been absconding since the accident. An investigation into the incident is currently underway, being led by Inspector Kishore Singh Ayri and his team from the local police department.

Following the necessary procedures, the bodies of the deceased will be transported to the District Hospital for further examination and necessary arrangements.
