The Delhi Government Requests Detailed Report from DMRC Regarding Woman’s death at Metro Station

The Delhi government has taken action following the tragic incident that occurred at the Delhi Metro station on December 14. Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot has written a letter to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) urging them to provide a comprehensive report on the incident. The incident involved a woman who was dragged along the platform of Inderlok Metro Station after her sari got stuck in the door of a moving train.

In response to the incident, the DMRC has announced that the commissioner of Metro Railway Safety will conduct an inquiry into the accident. This step aims to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and ensure that appropriate measures are taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot expressed his concerns over the incident and emphasized the need for a comprehensive report from the DMRC. He stated, “We have written to the MD, DMRC asking about the report and have asked them to submit it. We have also requested details about their compensation policy. The DMRC should take necessary steps to rehabilitate the victim’s family.” These actions highlight the government’s commitment to ensuring justice and support for those affected by the incident.

The victim, identified as Reena (35), leaves behind a son and a daughter. Her husband had passed away approximately seven years ago, making this tragedy even more heartbreaking for the family.
