Hesperia Man Arrested for Attempted Murder After Domestic Disturbance
HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 59-year-old man has been apprehended and is facing charges of attempted murder after a domestic disturbance incident in Hesperia. The accused, identified as Michael Filopowich, was arrested and is currently being held on a $1 million bail.

The incident took place on December 15, 2023, at approximately 2:13 p.m., within a residence located in the 18300 block of Damon Road. Reportedly, Filopowich physically assaulted a victim inside the house, resulting in severe injuries.
Upon receiving the domestic disturbance call, deputies from the Hesperia Police Department promptly arrived at the scene. They soon discovered that Filopowich had barricaded himself inside the residence, refusing to cooperate with law enforcement.
In an effort to de-escalate the situation and ensure the safety of everyone involved, law enforcement officers made multiple attempts to engage with Filopowich. However, his resistance escalated the tension, leading to a standoff.
Concerned about the victim’s well-being and the potential for further harm, law enforcement decided to execute a tactical operation to enter the home. After careful planning and execution, the officers successfully apprehended Filopowich, bringing an end to the dangerous situation.

The victim, who suffered from multiple bruises and scrapes due to the assault, received immediate medical attention at the scene. The law enforcement authorities acted swiftly to address the victim’s injuries and ensure their safety.
Following his arrest, Michael Filopowich was booked into the West Valley Detention Center on charges of attempted murder (PC 664/187). He is scheduled to appear for arraignment at a Victorville courtroom on December 19th at 12:30 pm.
