LAS CRUCES, New Mexico (KVIA) — A tragic incident occurred on Saturday night as an Arizona man lost his life in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash, as confirmed by the Las Cruces Police.

The victim has been identified as 42-year-old Jesse Kelly. The unfortunate incident took place at approximately 10:40 PM on Saturday, December 16th. Emergency responders from Las Cruces swiftly arrived at the scene, which was located on north Main Street near Oban Court, according to an official press release issued by the Las Cruces Police Department.
Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered a severely damaged motorcycle and its rider. The injured man was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention. Tragically, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, the victim succumbed to his injuries.
Following a preliminary investigation, it was determined that the motorcyclist failed to navigate a curve, leading to a collision with the center median just north of Oban Court. The impact resulted in the rider being forcefully ejected from the motorcycle, causing him to land on the unforgiving concrete median.
Traffic investigators have identified speed and alcohol as probable contributing factors to the crash. Such findings highlight the importance of responsible driving and the potential consequences of impaired or reckless behavior on the road.
