The Metropolitan Police Department’s (MPD) Homicide Branch is currently conducting an investigation into a fatal shooting incident that occurred on December 15, 2023, in the 600 block of Hamlin Street, NE.
According to official MPD documents, officers from the department swiftly responded to a report of an unconscious individual at the aforementioned location. Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim who had sustained gunshot wounds. Tragically, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The deceased has been identified as Marcus Vines, a 37-year-old man.
In an effort to bring justice to the victims of such heinous crimes, the MPD offers a substantial reward to individuals who can provide information leading to the apprehension and conviction of those responsible for each homicide committed within the District.
