35-Year-Old Woman Arrested for Kidnapping 8-Year-Old Girl in Indore, Madhya Pradesh

Indore, Madhya Pradesh: In a distressing incident, a 35-year-old woman has been apprehended for the abduction of an eight-year-old girl in the Indore district of Madhya Pradesh, according to a police official.

The accused has been identified as Jyoti Kudariya, and she allegedly kidnapped the young girl from a location near her residence, falling under the jurisdiction of Raoji Bazar police station area, on Sunday evening.

Upon receiving a complaint regarding the incident, the police promptly initiated an investigation. With the aid of CCTV footage, law enforcement officers successfully located and rescued the abducted girl. Subsequently, the authorities took Jyoti Kudariya into custody.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Devendra Singh Dhurve, stated, “We have arrested a 35-year-old woman named Jyoti Kudariya for the kidnapping of an eight-year-old girl in the city. Jyoti had abducted Anita Sharma’s daughter, a resident of Mahal Kacheri locality, on Sunday evening. During interrogation, it was revealed that Jyoti had borrowed Rs 85,000 from a women’s group facilitated by Anita. However, she found herself unable to repay the loan.”

Motivated by Debt, Kidnapper Seeks Ransom

Anita Sharma had been persistently contacting Jyoti Kudariya to collect the loan installment. Overwhelmed by the mounting pressure, Jyoti devised a plan to kidnap Anita’s daughter and demand a ransom of Rs 4 lakh, divulged the police officer.

ACP Dhurve further added, “During the investigation, it came to light, with the assistance of local witnesses and CCTV footage, that Jyoti enticed the girl and whisked her away. Subsequently, the police interrogated Jyoti and conducted a raid in a neighboring room, where the girl was found with her hands and legs bound.”

The police successfully rescued the girl and reunited her with her family. An official case of kidnapping has been registered against Jyoti, leading to her arrest.
