35-Year-Old Woman Arrested for Kidnapping Eight-Year-Old Girl in Indore

A shocking incident unfolded in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore district as a 35-year-old woman was apprehended by the police for abducting an innocent eight-year-old girl. The accused, identified as Jyoti Kudariya, allegedly kidnapped the girl from the vicinity of her residence, falling under the jurisdiction of Raoji Bazar police station area, on a fateful Sunday evening.

The swift response from the local police, upon receiving a complaint about the incident, resulted in the successful recovery of the young girl. Utilizing the assistance of CCTV footage, the authorities managed to locate the abducted girl and promptly arrested Jyoti Kudariya.

Providing insights into the motive behind the kidnapping, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Devendra Singh Dhurve revealed, “Jyoti Kudariya, a 35-year-old woman, has been taken into custody for the abduction of an eight-year-old girl in our city. During the interrogation, it came to light that Jyoti had previously borrowed a sum of Rs 85,000 from Anita Sharma, a resident of Mahal Kacheri locality. Unfortunately, she failed to repay the loan.”

Evidently distressed by continuous reminders from Anita Sharma regarding the outstanding debt, Jyoti hatched a sinister plan to kidnap Anita’s daughter and demand a ransom of Rs 4 lakh. “Jyoti’s frustration and desperation pushed her towards this heinous act,” added ACP Dhurve.

During the course of the investigation, the police, with the assistance of eyewitnesses and CCTV footage, discovered that Jyoti had enticed the young girl and led her away. Acting swiftly, the authorities interrogated Jyoti and subsequently raided a room in her neighborhood. To their horror, they found the abducted girl with her hands and legs tied, held captive by Jyoti.

Following the successful rescue operation, the police ensured the safe return of the girl to her family, providing solace to her distraught loved ones. Formal charges of kidnapping were lodged against Jyoti, leading to her immediate arrest.
