Indian National Arrested in Nepal After Newborn’s Body Found in Possession

A 32-year-old Indian national was apprehended in Nepal on Sunday after the lifeless body of a newborn was discovered in his possession, as reported by the police.

Harishchandra Kumar Sudi was taken into custody during a security check at a temple in the Sarlahi district of Madhesh province, according to authorities.

Nepal police recovered the body of an infant, with the placenta still attached, from a plastic bag that Sudi, a resident of Bihar, was carrying.

Following the necessary investigation, the Indian national was apprehended and the body was sent to the Provincial Hospital in Malangawa for postmortem examination.

In a separate incident, authorities arrested another Indian national, Navauddin Chaudhary, on the outskirts of Kathmandu for being in possession of banned red sandalwood.

Chaudhary, a 22-year-old from Bihar, was apprehended during a security check on a passenger bus that arrived in Kathmandu from Delhi on Saturday. He was found to be carrying 580 grams of red sandalwood.
