Man Fatally Shot in Southeast, D.C. Identified as Kenneth Barksdale Jr.

Police are currently investigating a shooting incident that resulted in the death of a 28-year-old man in Southeast, D.C. on Saturday evening.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) received reports of gunshots at approximately 8:07 p.m. in the 1200 block of 44th Street. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The injured individual was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, but sadly succumbed to his injuries.

The victim has been identified as Kenneth Barksdale Jr., a resident of Southeast, D.C.

MPD is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this homicide. Individuals with information regarding this shooting are urged to contact the police at 202-727-9099. Alternatively, anonymous tips can be submitted by texting 50411.
