22-Year-Old Man in Custody Following Fatal Car Crash in Sun Valley

A tragic incident unfolded in the Sun Valley area as a 22-year-old man, identified as Joseph Delgado, a resident of North Hills, has been taken into custody for his involvement in a fatal vehicle collision. The crash resulted in the death of a 15-year-old boy and left another pedestrian injured. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) reported the incident on Sunday.

The Incident

The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on Saturday when Delgado was driving eastbound on Strathern Street. Tragically, he lost control of his vehicle near White Street, leading to a series of collisions with parked cars. The force of the impact caused debris from the crashes to strike a pedestrian walking on the sidewalk, resulting in injuries. The LAPD has charged Delgado with murder in connection with the incident.

Victim Fatality and Injury

Regrettably, the 15-year-old boy, who was in the roadway at the time, was struck by debris from the parked vehicles. Emergency medical services promptly arrived at the scene and transported the critically injured boy to a nearby hospital. Despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and tragically passed away. The identity of the victim has been withheld pending notification of his next of kin.

Furthermore, another pedestrian was also injured by the flying debris from the collisions. Fortunately, their injuries were deemed moderate, and medical professionals expect them to recover fully.
