The victim, who is an orphan, had gone missing from her village in Bihar approximately six months ago. The accused individuals had been constantly shifting her from one location to another in an attempt to evade the Bihar police.

On Saturday, local informers alerted the police about a woman running a prostitution ring in the area and holding a minor captive in her residence. Acting upon this information, a team led by SHO KL Yadav initiated an investigation. However, the provided details about the woman were vague.

“We continued working on the case and eventually discovered that a woman residing in Sadar Bazaar might be involved in the crime. A raid was conducted, leading to the apprehension of the woman. Simultaneously, we also found and rescued the minor from her confinement. The girl was in a terrible condition…” stated an officer closely associated with the case.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Manoj Kumar Meena, revealed that the minor had been abducted and forced into prostitution. He further added, “The child received counseling, and her statement was recorded. She had been constantly moved from one house to another to avoid detection by the Bihar police. Since her parents passed away long ago, she had been living with her relatives.”

The accused individuals have been identified as Sanjary (36), her husband Hasibul (45), and their associate Irshad. The police interrogated Sanjary and subsequently arrested her associates. Investigations have revealed that Irshad was the one responsible for abducting the minor from her village and forcing her into the sex trade. Sanjary, who hails from the same village as the victim, was assigned the task of taking care of the minor and procuring clients for the illicit business,” confirmed the Deputy Commissioner of Police.

Further investigations by the police have indicated that the couple was operating a prostitution ring in Delhi. The officers are currently verifying the allegations made by the minor, who also informed them that she had previously been confined in another house and subjected to torture.

A case has been registered against the accused individuals under various sections of the law, including kidnapping, human trafficking, rape, the POCSO Act, and the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act.
