Thane, Maharashtra – In a shocking incident that occurred in Thane city, Priya Singh, the victim, has come forward seeking justice after her boyfriend, who happens to be the son of a senior bureaucrat, allegedly tried to run her over with his car. Priya Singh, in a plea to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for justice, claimed that police officers attempted to coerce her into signing something on Saturday night, but she refused due to the absence of legal representation.

Speaking out about the incident, Priya said, “Last night, some policemen approached me and forced me to sign something against my will. I refused, as I was without legal counsel and my family members were also not present. They put pressure on me, insisting that I sign immediately, regardless of the consequences. When I stood my ground and did not sign, they became angry and left.”

Expressing her trust in the Prime Minister and Chief Minister, Priya stated, “I have great faith in the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister. I just want justice.”

The incident took place in the early hours of Monday morning near a hotel in Thane. The police have registered a case against the accused, identified as Ashwajit Gaikwad.

Providing more details about her relationship with the accused, Priya revealed, “We had been in a relationship for over four-and-a-half years. We were deeply in love with each other. I was unaware of his marital status until later when he disclosed that he and his wife were no longer together. He expressed his desire to marry me. I had been staying with him for a long time. However, when I went to meet him that night, he was with his wife. Shocked and hurt, I approached him to talk, but he turned aggressive, leading to a fight.”

Priya also shared the extent of her injuries, stating, “Three bones in my right leg are broken, and I have undergone surgery. I have deep injuries from my left shoulder to my hips, which have left me unable to move. Four days ago, I tried to file an FIR, but no action was taken until today when I posted about it on social media. The police have finally supported me.”

In response to the incident, a special investigation team (SIT) has been formed to probe the matter, according to officials. “An offense has been registered under sections 279, 338, 323, 504, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. The local police officers have conducted a preliminary investigation. Today, an SIT has been formed, and we are questioning witnesses. We have recorded three statements so far,” said DCP Zone 5, Amarsingh Jadhav.

The 26-year-old woman suffered severe injuries during the alleged attempted vehicular assault by her boyfriend, Ashwajit Gaikwad, who is the son of a senior bureaucrat. The incident has sent shockwaves through Maharashtra’s Thane district.
