Tragic Plane Crash in Corona Claims the Life of Pilot

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has provided new details regarding the devastating plane crash that took place in Corona, resulting in the tragic loss of the pilot’s life. The aircraft involved in the incident has been identified as a Vans RV-8, classified as an “experimental homebuilt” plane.

The unfortunate accident occurred on Saturday, shortly before noon, at the intersection of Auburndale and Rincon Streets. Upon impact, the crash ignited a vegetation fire, prompting a swift response from the Corona Fire Department. Thanks to the heroic efforts of the fire crews, the blaze was swiftly extinguished, preventing further damage.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the ill-fated flight departed from the Corona Municipal Airport. Regrettably, the pilot was the sole occupant of the aircraft at the time of the crash.

As of Sunday afternoon, the authorities have withheld the pilot’s identity, pending notification of their next of kin. Investigations are currently underway to determine the exact cause of the tragic incident, as the NTSB diligently examines all available evidence.
