Tragic Incident: Woman Fatally Injured in Delhi Metro Accident

In a horrific incident that has caught the attention of netizens, a 35-year-old woman tragically lost her life after sustaining severe injuries in an accident on the Delhi Metro.

The unfortunate incident occurred when the victim’s saree got entangled in the door of the moving Metro train, causing her to be dragged for several meters at the Metro Station. The woman suffered critical brain and chest injuries as a result of the accident.

Following the incident, the injured woman was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital. Tragically, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, she was pronounced dead upon arrival. Concerned about the circumstances surrounding the incident, the commissioner of Metro railway safety has launched an official inquiry.

The CCTV footage reviewed by officials revealed that the woman had initially boarded the train but later realized that her child had been left behind. She decided to exit the train to retrieve her child, and it was during this crucial moment that her saree became stuck in the closing doors. Tragically, as the train departed the station, the woman was dragged along the railway tracks for several meters.

Desperate for immediate medical attention, the victim was denied admission at two hospitals before finally being admitted to Safdarjung Hospital. According to the doctors who attended to her, the woman arrived in an unconscious state and was in critical condition.

The deceased woman has been identified as Reena, a widow who had been supporting her family by selling vegetables. She leaves behind her 10-year-old son, Hiten, and 12-year-old daughter, Ria.

“Who will take care of her children now? Who will pay their school fees?” questioned Reena’s sister-in-law, Monika Sonkar, while grieving at the hospital.

In the wake of this tragic incident, the relatives of the deceased initially refused to claim the body and demanded compensation from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation for their loss.
