Grieving Father Mourns the Loss of His Daughter

Among the victims was Arti, daughter of Neelkanthrao Sahare. The blast has left Sahare shattered, causing immense pain as his 22-year-old daughter was the sole breadwinner of their family. Sahare, who himself suffers from a limp due to a previous paralytic attack, also takes care of his speech-impaired wife and younger daughter. Waiting since 9:30 am, Sahare desperately yearned for his daughter’s lifeless body.

Heartbreaking Wait for Closure

“I don’t want anything, just hand over my daughter’s body,” the grieving father pleaded, as quoted by news agency PTI. Unfortunately, the bodies of the deceased workers remained inside the factory premises, causing further agony to the families. The authorities were yet to retrieve and release the bodies, leaving the families in an anguishing state.

Tragedy Strikes Another Family

Rumita Uikey, a 32-year-old mother of two, was another unfortunate victim of the industrial accident. Her father, Devidas Irpati, received the news of the incident from others and anxiously waited outside the production site. Rumita’s husband works as a farm labourer, and she left behind two young sons. Devidas expressed his distress, saying, “We have no idea when they will hand over Rumita’s body to us. We are waiting here for that.”

Government’s Response

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed his condolences over the tragic incident. He described it as an unfortunate event and announced that the state government would provide an ex gratia of ₹5 lakh to the families of the deceased. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has approved this decision, aiming to support the affected families during this difficult time.
