Bengaluru: A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Bengaluru when a three-year-old girl named Arbina met with a tragic accident. Initially believed to have fallen from an apartment building in Kasavanahalli while playing, it was later revealed that she was run over by a car, as per the findings of the police investigation.

The grieving father, Jog Jathar, filed a complaint stating that on December 9, at around 8:30 am, his daughter fell near the footpath in front of Samrudhi Apartment while engrossed in play. The initial suspicion was that Arbina had fallen accidentally, as mentioned in the First Information Report (FIR).

Soon after the fall, Jathar noticed that Arbina had suffered severe injuries to her right shoulder and limbs. He rushed her to Nimhans, seeking immediate medical assistance. However, despite their efforts and subsequent transfers to different hospitals, the devastating news arrived at around 12 pm. Doctors at Nimhans informed Jathar that his beloved daughter had succumbed to her injuries during the journey, as noted in the FIR. An Unnatural Death Report (UDR) was promptly filed at the local police station, and the body was transferred to St John’s Hospital for autopsy.

During the autopsy, doctors at St John’s Hospital raised concerns regarding the nature of Arbina’s injuries, adding a layer of suspicion to the case, according to information provided by the police to Deccan Herald.

The tragic incident was captured by a nearby CCTV camera. The footage reveals passersby walking past the injured child on the road, unaware of the severity of the situation.

In response to the heart-wrenching accident, the Bellandur police have taken action. A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Motor Vehicles Act. The prime suspect, identified as Suman C Keshava Das, resides in Samruddhi Apartment and allegedly drove a white Mahindra XUV 700 that was involved in the incident. Further investigation is currently underway to gather more evidence and ascertain the sequence of events leading to the unfortunate incident.
