South Korean Vlogger Kelly Harassed During Trip to India

A South Korean vlogger named Kelly encountered a distressing incident during her visit to India. While recording a video and engaging with locals in Maharashtra, she was harassed by a man. The horrifying encounter was captured on her vlog and quickly spread across social media platforms.

Kelly found herself subjected to unwanted hugs, resulting in an uncomfortable and alarming experience. The vlog footage shows her conversing with shopkeepers when one of the men instructs a shopkeeper to take a photo with her. Suddenly, another man approaches and forcefully grabs her. Ignoring her attempts to distance herself, he instructs the other man, “Don’t stand so far. Hold her like this.” Kelly later remarked, “They really seem to enjoy hugging.”

It remains unclear if Kelly reported this harrowing incident to the police. Many Indians flooded the comment section on her video, expressing their apologies and sympathy for the horrible ordeal she endured.

“As an Indian citizen, I sincerely apologize to you, Kelly, for the disgraceful behavior exhibited by that man,” commented a YouTube user.

Another user echoed the sentiment, stating, “As an Indian, we are truly sorry for his behavior. Sending lots of love from India. Stay safe, Kelly.”

A third user conveyed their support, saying, “Kelly, I admire your cheerful and positive attitude! I am deeply sorry for the unpleasant experience you had with that man touching you so inappropriately. I hope from now on, you only encounter kind and friendly people during your trip in India.”

Notably, last December, a 24-year-old South Korean vlogger faced a similar incident in Khar, where she was stalked and harassed by two men on a bustling street. This distressing event was also streamed live on her vlog. The perpetrators, identified as Mobeen Chand Mohammed Shaikh, 19, and Mohammed Naqeeb Ansari, 21, both local residents of Khar, were apprehended by the police. However, they were subsequently released on bail after paying Rs 15,000 each.

Such incidents highlight the importance of addressing harassment and ensuring the safety of individuals, especially those visiting foreign countries. It is essential for authorities to take appropriate actions and implement robust measures to protect tourists and prevent such occurrences in the future.
