Demand for Justice and Assistance

The SC community gathered at the Fatehabad mini secretariat to demand justice for the deceased youth and the arrest of the culprits. They refused to pick up the body until their demands were met. The community’s demands include a financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh and two arms licenses to be provided to the victim’s family. Additionally, they seek the immediate arrest of all the accused involved in the brutal attack.

The community members expressed their determination to cremate the body only after their demands are fulfilled. This display of collective protest highlights the deep-rooted anger and frustration prevailing within the SC community due to the incident.

Police Investigation and Complaint

The Bhattu Kalan police station in Fatehabad has registered a case based on the complaint filed by the victim’s father, Gangaram. The complaint names Omprakash, his two sons Yogesh and Rahul, as well as Krishan, Devindra alias Joga, Balwan, his wife Savitri, and son Ajay, all residents of Thuiyan village.

According to the complaint, the victim, Kaluram, was suffering from a mental illness and was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Hisar. On December 9, 2023, at around 8 pm, Omprakash arrived and verbally abused Kaluram when he was standing outside his house. In response, Kaluram protested, which led Omprakash to retreat to his own home.

However, Omprakash soon returned to Kaluram’s house accompanied by his two sons, Yogesh and Rahul, along with Krishan and Devindra alias Joga. They forcefully entered the house and attacked Kaluram with sticks. The assailants then dragged him to the house of Balwan, where Balwan, his wife Savitri, son Ajay, and others tied Kaluram’s feet. They subsequently took him to a room and continued to assault him with sticks.

As the brutal attack unfolded, Kaluram called for help, prompting his father Gangaram, his brother Tulsiram, and other villagers to rush to Balwan’s house. However, the assailants fled the scene, threatening the villagers with death. Kaluram was immediately admitted to Agroha Medical College but tragically succumbed to his injuries.

Outrage and the Pursuit of Justice

The tragic death of Kaluram has sent shockwaves through the SC community in Fatehabad. The incident has once again raised concerns about the safety and security of marginalized communities. The demand for justice and the arrest of the accused reflects the community’s determination to fight against discrimination and violence.

The Fatehabad police have assured the SC community that they are committed to a thorough investigation and bringing the culprits to justice. The case has been registered under relevant sections of the law, and efforts are underway to apprehend all the accused parties involved in the heinous crime.

The SC community’s demonstration at the Fatehabad mini secretariat serves as a reminder that societal progress can only be achieved when every individual is treated with dignity and equality. The demand for financial assistance and arms licenses further highlights the need for comprehensive support systems for marginalized communities.

As the investigation progresses, it is crucial for authorities to ensure a fair and transparent legal process. The tragedy in Thuiyan village should serve as a wake-up call to address the deep-rooted prejudices and violence faced by marginalized communities, fostering an inclusive society where every individual can live without fear of discrimination or harm.
