The deceased, who had properties in Nagarbhavi, Kothanur, and Sarakki Layout, alleged that his family members fraudulently transferred the ownership of his properties to their names. The police are investigating the matter based on the information provided by the victim’s nephew, Nilakanta M, who filed a complaint against the victim’s wife, Malamma (65), his daughter Vimala, and two other individuals identified as Shekar and Mahesh. Shekar is the victim’s son-in-law, while Mahesh is his grandson.

According to the police, the victim had five daughters, with Vimala being the eldest. While Shekar and Mahesh are currently on the run, the two women have been informed about the complaint. However, due to ongoing rituals, they have not yet been questioned. The victim was found hanging in a locked room, having used a bedspread as a means of taking his own life.

A case has been registered against the four suspects under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code for abetment to suicide. The Kumaraswamy Layout police are actively investigating the matter to bring those responsible to justice.
