“Nine People Killed in Blast at Explosives Manufacturing Factory in Nagpur: Yuvraj Charode, Omeshwar Macchirke, and Others Among the Victims”

According to a senior police official who spoke to PTI, the incident took place in a unit situated 40 km away from Nagpur. At the time of the explosion, there were 12 workers present in the unit. Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, expressed his condolences and described the incident as unfortunate.

In response to the tragedy, the state government has announced that it will provide an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the families of the deceased. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde approved this decision. Fadnavis revealed that the blast claimed the lives of nine individuals, including six women. Solar Industries, the company where the incident occurred, specializes in the production of drones and explosives for the armed forces.

Fadnavis assured the affected families that the state government stands firmly with them during this difficult time. He added that he is in constant communication with the Nagpur collector, superintendent of police, and other officials who are present at the site of the incident.

Ashish Shrivastav, a senior general manager at Solar Industries, provided additional details about the blast. He explained that the explosion took place in the building where boosters used in coal mines are manufactured. The incident occurred during the sealing work of the product. Shrivastav confirmed that nine people have tragically lost their lives, and the injured workers have been rushed to the hospital. All workers have been safely evacuated from the building.

Authorities, including the police, administration personnel, and management staff, are currently at the scene of the incident. They are assessing the extent of the damage and conducting a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the explosion. Additionally, they are taking necessary measures to ensure the safety of the surrounding areas.

The nine individuals who lost their lives have been identified as Yuvraj Charode, Omeshwar Macchirke, Mita Uikey, Aarti Sahare, Swetali Marbate, Pushpa Manapure, Bhagyashree Lonare, Rumita Uikey, and Mausam Patle, according to a police official. The other injured workers have been admitted to the hospital, and their condition is reported to be critical.
